MOAMA COMMUNITY VILLAGE NEWS

sMoama Lions Club officially opened four new units in its Community Village on Sunday 11th March 2012.

The units were opened by member for Farrer Sussan Ley. Other guests at the opening were John Williams, member for Murray-Darling and Murray Shire mayor Graeme Shiells.

The Desmond M Murray units are the latest units to be built, making a total of 28 units.

It was a surprise to Des Murray to have the latest units named after him and we congratulate him. It is an honour well deserved. Des' daughter and her family travelled to Moama to share this dedication with her father.

Des has been a member of the Moama Lions Club since 1979 and has served on many committees, as well as being president, secretary and treasurer and zone chairman.

A BBQ lunch followed the opening, also attended by several councellors of Murray Shire and residents of other Moama Village Community Units.
